Ute racing is back at Lakeside for Round 3 of the DC Voltage Ute Racing Qld Championship 29/30th July.
After a long mid-season break racing is BACK! The grassroots racing series returns at Lakeside.
A solid field of utes will be ready to battle it out for important championship points over the weekend with a mix of new and old faces on the grid.
A big welcome to new entrant Matthew Becker in the ex-Steve Cook championship winning commodore production ute. Matthew is new to the ute series but knows his way around a racetrack having HQ series experience under his belt. Also, another Ex HQ-series runner Mick Mcloud will be back in the AU falcon looking to bank some points after last round.
Series leader in the Production Utes John Young in the very fast VZ Holden will have Craig Kasper, Troy Montgomerie and Travis doing their best to take the round win. This should be a interesting battle in the 6cyls.
In the V8’s Brendan Exner and AJ Gealy are back to have a head-to-head battle in the FG Falcons, the racing between these two Utes last time at Lakeside was a highlight however our young gun AJ Gealy had a weekend to forget last time around, and he will be looking for redemption.
Joining in on the V8 fun and games will be Allan Hughes in another FG Ford , Allan has been running a very tough Torana this season with other categories, and our spy has seen Allan getting some driving coaching at QR this year so watch out for this dark horse.
The VE V8 Commodore will be back with Peter Clarke looking to score some points and keep the Ford boys honest.
Big thanks to sponsors DC Voltage and Valmont Coatings for their ongoing support. See you all at the Lake !
