Round 3 of the 2022 Lion Batteries Ute Racing Qld Championship is almost here !
On the 13/14th August the Utes will be back at newly revamped Qld Raceway to battle it out for championship points. With solid field expected of Production and V8 Utes with a 5 race program it is shaping up to be a big weekend of racing.
The Production Ute battle will be on with the Holden V Ford of John Young and Danny Ford running very close in the points for 1st and 2nd so far this year , and if last round at Lakeside was any indication of the level of commitment of these 2 drivers this round could be wild. The entrants in the classic Production utes with the AU Falcons and VU/VY commodores will be very close as the gap in lap times of all these Utes are very close. So look out for Matt Mundy, Craig Kasper Vs Peter Clarke and Mick in the new AU.
The V8 Brutes are back ! We have the OzGrind FG Ford V8 of Brendan Exner back also with Allan Hughes in his Ford V8 up against Robert in the Maloo HSV Holden.
This will be a very interesting battle we have yet to see the best out of both the Holden and Fords in the V8’s as the new owners get to fine tune the set ups of these V8’s. I expect some close racing in the V8’s and it really is a fresh weekend to find out who gets it right and who doesn’t.
Practice Friday 12th
Racing Sat13th / Sun14th Queensland Raceway.
Thanks to our sponsor Lion Batteries. Also to Ronnie From Beaurepairs Beenleigh and Dunlop Motorsport tyres.
If you at the track come on down to see the utes the boys will be more than happy to have a chat about the cars and anything questions you may have about the series.
