Round 1 of the 2022 Lion Batteries Ute Racing Qld series 28/29th May moved to a full 2 day event.
Its been a long wait to the start of the racing year but its not long to go for the first round of the year. Due to large fields the one day day/night event has been expanded to a 2 day format to allow for more racing over the weekend.
The Utes will have new competitors in both the V8 classes and production 6cyls in a expanded grid for 2022.
Also the utes and hot hatches will have their own grid all year which make for some close racing up and down the field.
In the V8’s we have the Fords of Simon Boss Walker, Kane Hope, Allan Hughes and Brendan Exner going up against the Holden Maloo of new entrant Robert Mcmahon , this will be a fast field getting back to sights and sounds of the Aussie V8 Brute series.
In the 6cyl Production series we have all the regulars plus new entrants with Craig Kasper, Matt Mundy and Brendan Lloyd which increases the Production 6cyl field to make for some close racing.
With a new Dunlop control tyre for everyone to get their head around for both classes and 6 rounds in the championship it will the biggest year so far for the series.
Practice Friday 27th, Racing Sat28th and 29th May. Qld Raceway.
